I built an AI inbox for people who will never organize a notes app — "what am I forgetting?" is the whole point
Most productivity tools assume you're willing to build and maintain a system , tags, folders, projects. I'm not, and most people I know aren't either. So I built ONEBOX: you throw anything in, messy, unstructured, typed or spoken, and AI figures out what it is and remembers it.
The feature I actually built this for: ask "what am I forgetting?" and it pulls together everything still open tasks, upcoming events, things you mentioned once and never followed up on into one real answer. It now also sends a notification before dated things are due.
Built solo, non-technical background, using Lovable/Supabase/AI APIs —went from idea to a fully working version (voice, image capture, entity linking, push notifications) in a few hours.
Would genuinely appreciate feedback from this community especially if something confuses you or you bounce off it fast, that's more useful to me than "cool app."
Congrats on shipping, Manus! The "what am I forgetting?" framing is smart; most notes apps fail because they assume users will organize, and you're designing around the fact that they won't. Curious how the entity linking handles ambiguity, e.g. if I mention "call Sarah" twice about two different Sarahs, does it merge them or keep separate threads? Going from idea to working voice/image/push version that fast on a non-technical background is impressive too.
Thank you, just tested the entity matching, and right now it merges entries into one entity if the name matches, without disambiguating by context. This means two different people named 'Sarah' are currently treated as the same person, which is a gap I need to address.
For the fix, I’ll likely implement a prompt asking 'Same Sarah or different?' when ambiguity is detected, or look to infer from context (such as different topics or times) rather than relying solely on the name string. I’m not going to fix this before the Product Hunt launch tomorrow, but I’ve logged it as a priority for immediately after, amazing feedback
Real-time dubbing is one of those products where people understand the value almost instantly.
I'm curious which reactions stay consistent after the novelty wears off. Those are usually the ones worth paying the most attention to.
Thank you, I think you mean doubling rather than dubbing? 😄 And yeah, that's exactly what I'm trying to figure out now. The initial reaction to the concept is fairly easy to get the more interesting question is whether people actually start using it as a habit once the novelty wears off.
The roadmap is really about building that stickiness. The first step is making capture completely frictionless: text, voice, images, and random screenshots. I want people to build enough trust in it that they stop thinking, "Should I organize this?" and just throw things into ONEBOX because they know it'll work out what matters.
Over time, the value should compound. It starts understanding the relationships between things, brings back unfinished commitments, lets you ask questions about things you captured weeks ago, and eventually becomes proactive about surfacing things you might otherwise forget.
So the long-term goal isn't just an AI app that organizes your notes. It's more like building a trusted external memory. The real test for me is whether someone eventually does something completely unremarkable with it takes a random screenshot, sends it to ONEBOX without even thinking, and then expects to be able to find or act on it later. That's when I think the novelty has worn off and the product has actually become useful
