I built an AI-powered expired domain finder as a solo founder — launching on Product Hunt April 8th
I'm Lee. Solo founder, British expat based in Southeast Asia.
A few months ago I got frustrated trying to find expired domains with real SEO value. Every tool I tried was either expensive, clunky or just gave you a list of junk.
So I built my own.
The Domain Hunter lets you type in any niche keyword and surfaces expired domains that have aged authority, existing backlinks and real history — all AI-scored and ranked by opportunity.
I built it completely solo. No co-founder, no funding, no team. Just me, an API key and a lot of late nights.

Cleaning up the "junk" in the expired domain market is a massive value-add, Lee. Most tools just dump thousands of worthless URLs on you, so having an AI-scored filter that actually ranks aged authority and backlink history is a serious shortcut for anyone building an SEO moat.

You're right — the rule is Tokyo-connected. But “Tokyo-connected” is broad: for example, a tool that helps domain hunters find high-value expired domains specifically for the Japanese market, Tokyo real-estate investors, or expat founders building in Japan would fit perfectly.
Many participants frame their global tools this way and it works great.

Nice niche to go after. One thing that gets missed with expired domains is hidden baggage, spam history, toxic backlinks, trademark risk, old manual penalties, and buyers care about that more than the AI angle. If your launch page makes those checks very obvious, Product Hunt traffic will get the value much faster.
