I built an AI-powered party invitation platform as a solo founder — PartyInvitation.AI is live

Hey IH!

I'm Ned, a solo founder based in Vancouver. Just launched PartyInvitation.AI — describe your party, AI generates a unique invitation, share it, and track RSVPs automatically.

The problem: Every time I planned a party, I'd waste time designing invitations in Canva, then chase RSVPs across WhatsApp, iMessage, and email. Rinse and repeat.

The solution: AI-generated invitations + built-in RSVP tracking + gift wishlists, all in one link. Supports 8 languages and works for any event — birthdays, dinners, game nights, BBQs.

What I learned building this solo:

  • AI text rendering on images is terrible — I solved it by using AI for the illustration only, then layering text programmatically

  • Free tier generosity matters more than pricing for early traction

  • As a solo founder, AI coding tools are basically my entire engineering team

Would love feedback from the community. What would make you switch from Canva + group chat for your next event?

The 'Canva + WhatsApp' combo is exactly what makes hosting a headache. Moving from design to RSVP tracking in one flow is a huge time saver. I’ve noticed people often hesitate with new tools because of privacy—are the invitation links password-protected or strictly public? Either way, this would be a lifesaver for organizing larger game nights or dinners.
