I built an AI that signs up to your product like a stranger and tells you why nobody's paying

Most founders whose launched product isn't growing guess at why. And most guess the same thing: "the product isn't good enough yet." So they go back and build more.

I've spent about 13 years on the business and marketing side of consumer internet, and I've watched this loop over and over. It's usually not the product.

So I built SOFtruth, a diagnosis for products that are live but not growing. It tells you whether the problem is:

  • Product: it doesn't do the job well enough that someone would pay
  • Positioning: it does the job, but nobody can tell in ten seconds
  • Distribution: it does the job, people would want it, but nobody arrives

HOW IT WORKS

  1. You paste your product link. An AI agent signs up cold, like a stranger would, and records every screen, dead end and error. You get one real finding for free.

  2. You answer 15 questions, one at a time. If an answer is vague, it says so and asks again.

  3. Optionally, you connect your repo (read-only), analytics, payments and customer conversations as exports.

  4. You get a report naming one cause, ranked against the other two with a confidence figure. Every claim cites its source, and what happened is kept separate from what it's judging.

  5. You tick the findings you agree with. Only those get written into your repo as markdown, with pointers in CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md and Cursor rules. Your coding agent stops re-proposing things you've already ruled out.

$99, one time. No subscription, no call. About 30 minutes of your time.

What I care most about: it's built to refuse to conclude when the evidence can't separate the causes. It shows the readings it considered and rejected, and it offers a refund instead of picking one to look decisive.

WHERE IT HONESTLY STANDS

I'm a solo founder in India. There are no paying customers yet, no testimonials, and nobody has confirmed a recommendation was right. The agent walkthrough works in tests but hasn't run on a stranger's real product yet. I'd rather say that than fake logos.

WHAT I'M ASKING FOR

Drop your product link in the comments (or DM me) and I'll run the free check on it. If the finding is wrong or useless, tell me. That's the feedback I need most.

Also curious: if your product stalled, what did you first assume the cause was, and were you right?

Hey, I ran a quick AI visibility check for SOFtruth and asked ChatGPT “best AI product diagnosis tools for startups in 2026.”

It came back with PostHog, Amplitude, Mixpanel, FullStory and LogRocket, but those are all analytics/session replay tools that you set up and monitor yourself.

SOFtruth seems pretty different since it’s more of a one-time AI agent that signs up for your product and figures out whether the problem is the product itself, the positioning or the distribution.

I think a narrower search would probably give us a much better idea of the actual space. Something like “startup growth diagnosis service” or “why isn’t my product growing tool“.

Those should bring up a much smaller and more relevant set of competitors, if there are any.

Happy to run that narrower check and see what’s actually out there in that specific space if useful.

thank you for the comment my previous product was AI visibility, I still use it internally

Ok, got it. Still if you want a 2nd opinion you can reply to this comment. Good luck!

The refusal to conclude is interesting. What evidence from the first stranger runs would convince you the three causes can actually be separated?

if source code say something different from the website says, then its positioning problem. when analysing source code, if it does not offers anything meaningful then its product problem. if product and positioning is correct but visitors or engagement is low then marketing problem, the actual diagnosis is much deeper than this

The distinction between a surface diagnosis and the deeper cause is the interesting part. If you’re open to it, what’s the best email to reach you on?

Thanks! I’ve just sent it over.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts whenever you have a chance.
