Hey Indie Hackers ๐
I recently launched PodcastClipsAI โ an AI-powered tool that automatically converts long-form podcast episodes into short-form vertical videos (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts) with subtitles, captions, and attention-grabbing clips.
As a podcast listener and indie founder, I noticed a massive gap: great podcast content rarely makes it to short-form platforms โ which, in 2025, is where 80%+ of discovery happens.
Most podcasters donโt have time (or editors) to clip, caption, and publish short videos consistently. Yet thatโs exactly how creators grow their audience now. So I thought: what if AI could automate the painful parts?
Detects the most engaging moments from podcast episodes
Automatically adds captions and subtitles
Outputs ready-to-post clips
Multilingual support, speaker detection, and more coming soon
I built it solo, designed it for speed, and hosted it myself. The goal is to give podcasters a growth engine that works on autopilot.
Next.js, Tailwind
Node.js, Postgres
Inngest for background jobs
Whisper, GPT, and some LLM trickery ๐
If you run a podcast (or know someone who does), Iโd love your feedback on the landing page, UX, or features.
And if youโve built anything in the creator tooling space โ letโs connect. Always curious to see what others are building!
Soft launching on Product Hunt soon. Here's the coming soon page if you'd like to follow.
Would love to hear what you think โ what would you want in a podcast growth tool?
Just checked out your site. I think you can do better with your messaging and positioning because the article you wrote here and the landing page seems like they're promoting two different products.
The easiest fix you can do is rewrite your hero headline and description (the hero description is solid.)
Also, less copy on your landing page will help you convert more people. Remember people scan websites they don't read them.
It would be nice to play some of the sample podcast clips right there on the site. I only saw one place you could do that but it was very apparent that they were playable because the static images also looked like they were playable. Had to click through a bunch of images to find the playable video.
Good luck on your journey. The idea and value prop seem valid, you just need to communicate that better through your site.
Thank you for these valuable tips, we will try to improve the landing page after launch, as we are very close to opening the doors to our product. We did a mix of static images, plus playable videos to maintain our page speed on a perfect score, but we will definitely try to add more videos instead of placeholder images because these are in fact the proofs of our product and might convince users to try it.
My thoughts exactly. More proof, better conversions.
Super smart idea โ hitting a real pain point for podcasters. Love the focus on automation and speed. The stack looks solid too. Following for the PH launch! ๐๏ธ๐ฅ
Thank you! We've just launched!
Congrats - do you have any differentiation from something like Opus Clips? I love that tool, but certainly some areas to improve upon.
Nice launch, looking good on UI too
Thank you!
Excellent, but how are you guys creating this? I mean which technology is used to create AI apps?
Really cool! Building an AI-enabled podcast app and could definitely see some synergies. Are you giving users the ability to manually choose the "viral moments" as well or is it completely automated?
Thank you! Right now, the clips are generated automatically using AI, but we're considering on adding a manual clipping feature next, so creators can pick from specific identified viral moments before the final clip generation.
Really cool launch โ love how you're solving such a real pain point for podcasters.
I'm building something similar on the compliance side for small startups โ helping them automate painful parts of GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2 without hiring consultants. Totally agree that automation is the future for founders who donโt have time to do it all manually.
Following your journey โ excited to see this take off! ๐ฅ
Really appreciate that! Totally agree, automation is such a force multiplier, especially for solo founders or small teams. Your project sounds super useful too, compliance is a beast.
Thanks! Totally โ automation really is a game-changer, especially when time is limited. And yep, compliance has so many moving parts, it's wild. I'm working on making it 100x easier for small teams โ happy to share more if itโs relevant to what you're building!
Good product that solves a real pain point. Is security on the roadmap? Happy to give some pointers. Lets connect?
