Quick context: I’m a solo founder. Six months ago I started building IPnite after watching too many independent inventors and early-stage founders sit on ideas because a traditional patent attorney quote was $3,000-5,000+ just for a first draft.
What it does: The Drafter walks you through describing your invention, runs a prior-art check, and generates a structured provisional-style patent draft — claims, formatting, the works. It’s not a replacement for an attorney, but it gets you 80% of the way there before you pay for billable hours.
Currently live for US, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and EU/PCT filings.
What’s working: a few early users have drafted their core patent application in weeks instead of months. That’s the validation that keeps me going.
What’s NOT working yet: I’m a single founder doing product + sales + everything, so distribution is the hard part. I’d rather get this in front of real inventors and break things than polish in private.
If you’ve ever delayed protecting an idea because of cost or complexity — I’d genuinely love to hear about it, even if you never try the tool. And if you want to poke at it: www.app.ipnite.com
Happy to answer anything about the build, the legal-tech space, or how patent drafting actually works.
The 80% solution at a fraction of the cost is a strong value prop the hard part is reaching independent inventors before they Google ‘patent attorney’ and get hit with a $5k quote. That audience is scattered but very reachable in specific places. Curious what channels you’ve tried so far?
I think the bigger value isn't replacing patent attorneys. It's helping people stop saying, "I'll deal with the patent later." That first step feels expensive and intimidating for a lot of founders. If you can make it easy enough to actually get started, you've already solved a big part of the problem.
That’s a useful update. I’d be interested in continuing the conversation privately rather than going deeper here. What’s the best email to reach you on?
