I built an all-in-one app for freelancers that works 100% offline β€” no account, no cloud, no compromises

Hey IH πŸ‘‹

I'm Ryan β€” freelance software developer for the past 6 years. Like a lot of you, I spent way too long juggling separate apps for invoicing, expense tracking, time tracking, and taxes. QuickBooks felt like overkill. Wave shut down. Most "simple" tools were either missing features or wanted $30/month to send a PDF.

So I built Stintly.

What it does:

β€’ Invoicing & estimates (with client signatures, payment links, recurring billing)

β€’ Expense tracking (receipt scanning, voice entry, bank statement import)

β€’ Time tracking with one-tap timers that convert to invoice line items

β€’ Tax tools β€” quarterly estimates, Schedule C categories, deduction optimizer

β€’ 20+ AI features β€” all running on-device

What makes it different:

β€’ 100% offline. No internet needed. Ever.

β€’ No account required. Download and start using it.

β€’ Your data never leaves your device. No cloud sync, no analytics, no tracking.

β€’ Free tier: 5 clients, 5 invoices, 5 estimates, 5 expenses, 10 jobs

I built this because I wanted ONE app that handled the business side of freelancing without me having to trust some startup with my financial data. Every AI feature runs locally on your phone β€” no API calls, no data harvesting.

Stack: Native iOS (iPhone, iPad, Mac). SwiftUI + Core Data + on-device ML.

Available on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/stintly/id6759029483

Website: https://stintly.app

Happy to answer any questions about the build, the business model, or the indie journey. Would love honest feedback β€” I'm a developer first, marketer second (as you can probably tell πŸ˜…).

Offline-first for freelance finances makes a lot of sense β€” the tax side is where most people get burned, and it's usually simple math they never run. Quick version: take net profit (gross minus real business expenses), then set aside roughly 15.3% for self-employment tax plus your marginal federal bracket, so many solo folks land around 25-30% of net. On $6,000/mo net that's about $1,500-1,800/mo parked separately. Safe-harbor rule: pay 90% of this year's tax or 100% of last year's (110% if last year's AGI was over $150k) to avoid the underpayment penalty. Q3's deadline is Sept 15, and it covers June-August income β€” that trips up first-year 1099s who think it's a quarter behind. I put the whole calc into a spreadsheet: Sept 15 Estimated-Tax Worksheet for 1099s, $19. https://atlashelpscompany.gumroad.com/l/zfdxar
