I use this one myself along with some others (all anonymous), but now I've been wondering if I should start to push for it more.
The API pretty much crawls tech sites, then extracts sentiment, keywords, categorizes them so we can see exactly what people are saying and what is starting "trending".
If I give it to ChatGPT, it says it is "similar to “Google Trends for tech” but with a search endpoint to find the source posts and ability to surface connections between keywords. Existing SEO tools (Google Trends, Ahrefs, etc.) focus on search‑engine queries, while general news aggregators only show headlines. Safron’s niche is summarising what developers and AI enthusiasts are actually saying on Hacker News, Reddit, X and tech blogs so you you have an overview."
Would love some feedback and it's free to use (updates in the morning UTC at around 6 am) if you want a quick overview every day (can look up to 2 years back in time too)
The playground is here: https://docs.safron.io/playground (no need to code)
If you want to just track keyword mentions check: https://docs.safron.io/sources
If you want to just exploring connecting keywords check: https://docs.safron.io/connected
This is an interesting idea with many potential use cases. I will check it out.
Yep please do! I feel like data people find this more fascinating than normal people, maybe I'm not selling it the right way to non-data and ML folks.
