I built an open-source teleprompter because most teleprompter apps felt terrible

I tried a lot of teleprompter apps, but most of them felt outdated, overly complicated, or made speaking on camera feel robotic, so eventually I decided to build my own.

It’s a minimal open-source teleprompter designed for creators, YouTubers, educators, founders, and anyone who records videos often.

You can use it directly in the browser, and I also built native versions for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Teleprompter-Scrolling Scripts is a lightweight teleprompter for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Web that helps you speak more naturally on camera without memorizing every line. It’s designed for TikTok, Reels, YouTube videos, presentations, online courses, interviews, livestreams, and everyday content creation.

I built two different modes for different recording scenarios:

  1. Prompter Mode for smooth script reading during livestreams, interviews, or practice

  2. Camera Mode for recording videos while reading scripts directly on screen

Features include smooth scrolling scripts, adjustable speed and font size, fullscreen support, and a lightweight distraction-free interface designed to help you stay focused while recording.
