I built an order management tool for custom product makers drowning in DMs and spreadsheets

Hey IH πŸ‘‹

I make custom tumblers/drinkware and spent way too long managing orders through Instagram DMs, Google Sheets, and my inbox. Proof approvals alone were a nightmare β€” sending files back and forth, losing track of versions, customers saying "I never approved that."

So I built OrderForge β€” an order management tool specifically for custom product makers (tumblers, jewelry, woodworking, candles, etc.).

What it does:

  • Custom intake form that captures everything upfront (specs, personalization, files)

  • Built-in proof approval workflow β€” customer gets a link, clicks approve/request changes, no more DM ping-pong

  • Production tracking dashboard β€” see every order from "order received" to "shipped"

  • All in one place instead of juggling 4 different tools

The gap I kept hitting:

  • Craftybase ($99/mo) is great for inventory/COGS but doesn't do order management or approvals

  • HoneyBook ($130+/mo) is a CRM but built for photographers/service businesses β€” overkill and wrong fit

  • Airtable β€” I've seen people build this themselves but it's a DIY nightmare with no approval workflow

Nobody seemed to be building an approval-first workflow specifically for makers who do custom work at volume.

Who it's for: Custom product sellers doing 20-200+ orders/month who currently manage orders through DMs, email, or spreadsheets

Where it's at: Early β€” just launched, looking for feedback from people who've dealt with this workflow pain

Would love to know:

  • Does the proof approval flow make sense to you?

  • What's the most painful part of your current order workflow?
