I built Citywize — a tool that shows what it’s really like to live anywhere in the UK

Hey everyone 👋

When my wife and I were searching for a new place to live, we ended up with 20+ tabs open — one for crime, one for schools, one for costs, and still no real clarity. That’s when the idea for Citywize was born.

Citywize is a free tool that brings all that information together in one simple dashboard.
Just type a postcode and instantly see what it’s actually like to live there — from crime and schools to cost of living and local amenities.

It’s still early days (we launched just this week!), but the feedback has been great so far — people are spending 10–15 minutes per session exploring different areas, which tells me it’s solving a real problem.

I’d love feedback from the Indie Hackers community on:

• What would make you trust a platform like this more?

• Any features you’d want to see next (comparisons, trends, etc.)?

• How would you describe “your area” in one sentence?

Thanks for reading — and for helping us build something that hopefully makes finding the right place to live a little easier for everyone. 🙏
