I built ClipForge — an AI tool that turns long videos into short-form clips in one click

Hey IH,

I've been building ClipForge — a web app that takes a long video URL (YouTube, Vimeo, or uploaded file) and automatically splits it into short-form clips optimized for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts.

Why I built it:
I was spending hours manually cutting long content into shorts. There are AI tools out there, but most require a monthly subscription or produce unusable results. So I built a simpler version that works on a pay-per-video model — no monthly commitment.

How it works:

  1. Paste a video URL or upload a file
  2. AI analyzes the content, finds highlight segments
  3. Outputs 15-60 second clips with captions ready to post

Currently in pre-launch validation — would love feedback from anyone who's done the content repurposing grind.

Tech stack: Python/FastAPI backend, React frontend, Whisper for transcription, custom scene detection.

What's the biggest pain point you've hit with video repurposing? Would a per-video pricing model (no monthly subscription) appeal to you?
