I built eSIMKitStore — helping travelers stay online with instant QR-based eSIMs 🌍

Hi Indie Hackers! 👋

I’m MoMo, founder of eSIMKitStore.com.

I built this site to help travelers stay connected easily — no physical SIM cards, no app downloads, just scan a QR code and you’re online.

✈️ Why I started this:
I travel a lot and always hated wasting time at airports buying SIM cards or dealing with confusing roaming plans. So I built eSIMKitStore to make that process simple, affordable, and instant.

💡 How it works:
1️⃣ Choose your destination (Asia, Europe, USA, etc.)
2️⃣ Receive an eSIM QR code by email instantly
3️⃣ Scan and connect before you fly

🌍 Who it’s for:
Travelers, digital nomads, and anyone who wants to stay connected abroad without hassle.

🧩 Built with: Shopify + custom Liquid + multilingual support (Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese).

I’d love feedback from other founders who’ve launched in the travel or SaaS space — especially around SEO and community building.

Super useful idea, especially for frequent travelers. The instant QR setup is really smart 👏

Thanks! Really means a lot 🙏
Curious — do you travel often? Always love hearing from frequent travelers like you.

    Hi there,
I work in the travel industry, organizing inbound trips for foreign visitors to China as well as outbound travel for Chinese travelers. I checked out your eSIM store and I believe we could build a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership.

Hey, that sounds awesome! I’m always open to collabs, especially around travel.
Feel free to DM me or drop me a quick email at support[at]esimkitstore[dot]com — would love to chat more!

Super smart niche — eSIMs are a growing need for international travelers and digital nomads. Love the QR-based instant setup — takes the friction out of switching SIMs on the go.

    A few questions:
    • Are you partnering with specific providers (like Airalo, Ubigi), or building your own MVNO relationships?
    • How do you handle device compatibility issues — do users get guidance during purchase?

This could really scale with SEO and affiliate partnerships in the travel space. Kudos on the build!

Thanks a lot, Robert! Really appreciate your thoughtful feedback 🙏

Right now I’m partnering with several regional providers to ensure solid coverage and reliable activation .

For compatibility, we built a device check tool that helps users confirm if their phone supports eSIM before purchase — it’s one of the most common questions travelers have.

And yes, SEO and affiliate partnerships are definitely on my roadmap — the travel space has huge potential for that.

Love this! Congrats on your progress 👏

    Great idea
one small thing can you change currency and language based on user's country??

    1. 2

Great suggestion! Yes, that’s on my roadmap — I’m planning to add automatic currency and language detection based on the user’s region soon. Thanks for pointing it out!

      1. 2

looks like you did some updates i can see the currency is correctly selected for me.
also one more question why your navbar height is a bit long when someone just opened your website, when we scroll it gets normal height but in the start its longer, is it there for some functionality?

Love the idea 🌍 Staying connected while traveling is a huge pain point.
Really smart to focus on eSIMs — curious how you validated the initial demand before launching?

Just used eSIMKitStore for my safari in Kenya and it was a lifesaver! Getting connected the second I landed in Nairobi and having data out in the Masai Mara was incredible. The setup was instant and worked perfectly. No hunting for SIM vendors or dealing with spotty lodge Wi-Fi. This is exactly the kind of smart, reliable solution adventurers need. Highly recommended!

If it works the way it’s explained in the post I’m already user of yours! These are my problems with esims:

    1. Quality of connection. Really bad internet which is absolutely unpredictable in some of the cases.
    2. Complexity of installation. As a non technical person I somehow screw the process up couple of times and it didn’t work for me at all.

Just one thing I was not able to find at the website is a link for an app. I’m travelling quite a lot and having such app will make my life so much easier. Please hit me with a link once you have it!
