I built Kiku! – A minimalist, ad-free global radio player on Cloudflare Workers

I’ve always loved listening to radio and podcasts, but I grew frustrated with how modern audio apps have evolved. They’ve become bloated, slow, and cluttered with intrusive ads and algorithms that get in the way of the actual music.

I built Kiku! to fix that.

The Vision: Minimalism First The name comes from the Japanese word "Kiku" which simply means "to listen." That’s exactly what this app is about. No visual noise, no distractions—just one click to connect you to your favorite sounds from anywhere in the world.

The Technology: Lightning Speed I wanted to push the boundaries of what a web app can do. By leveraging Cloudflare Workers, I’ve built a backend that processes requests at the edge. This means Kiku! launches instantly and runs with sub-100ms latency globally.

Key Features:

• Ad-Free Experience: A pure environment for enjoying audio.

• Extreme Performance: Lightweight and optimized for speed.

• Global Access: Thousands of stations and podcasts at your fingertips.

I’d love for you to try it out and let me know what you think!
