Fake upvotes are definitely the worst part. I like discovery mechanics where the founder has to do something verifiable or fun, not just rally a voting squad. Biggest annoyance for me: launch platforms become audience contests fast. I like discovery mechanics where placement is earned inside the product, not bought or brigaded. Might be worth borrowing the principle for LaunchNest, make ranking harder to fake than a vote button.
fake upvotes are the big one for me, makes it impossible to tell what's actually getting traction vs who gamed it. clean discovery without that noise is a real gap. what's your plan for keeping quality up as it grows, most of these start clean and get spammy once volume picks up
The most frustrating thing for me is that many launch platforms reward whoever already has the biggest audience, rather than the most useful product. A good tool can quickly disappear beneath promoted listings, fake engagement, and dozens of similar launches.
A cleaner discovery experience sounds valuable. How will LaunchNest identify low-quality submissions or fake engagement without making it difficult for genuine early-stage founders to get noticed?

The hardest part I've found with AI tools launch platforms isn't the curation, it's the cold-start problem: how do you get the first 50 quality submissions when the directory has zero traffic to offer in return?
One thing that worked for me early on: instead of building the platform first and waiting for tool makers to come, I reversed it — started by writing 50 reviews of tools that existed (I used them personally), then asked the makers to link to my review when they saw it rank. That gave me a few hundred inbound links before the platform "officially" existed.
Not sure if LaunchNest does that, but if you're trying to bootstrap the supply side, the demand-side credibility is what unlocks it. Happy to compare notes if useful.
