Long-time reader, first-time poster. About a month ago I dove in to developing a web app on bubble.io and last week I got it to the point where it's full functional (although a little embarrassing, as an MVP should be).
The platform is curlreviews.com and helps startups and small businesses automate the review process via texting. Features coming soon will also include promotional capabilities, to text your customer's deals, offers, etc.
I've worked in Growth at a couple of successful startups, one was post $200M acquisition to a publicly traded company, so the world of customer acquisition isn't new to me. However, I must say I am more used to some expansive growth budgets ($250k-$2M monthly ad spend).
I'd love to know what are some clever, non-sexy ways, you've acquired some of your first customers?
I am guessing many of your customers will be small, local businesses. Maybe start locally reaching out to some businesses. Or try some small biz forums, like r/entrepreneur.
Hi Cody! This is a great MVP!
At Typedream we sort of went undercover as a website building freelancer on multiple communities in Reddit, Fiverr, Upwork, Slack, and Discord channels. This way, we managed to get high quality customers who actually wants to use the product religiously and not just trying it out.
Hope this helps!
That's clever, great tip!
Hey consider to make mobile responsive MVP.
It's ok to not adding perfection at start but the first element "headline" font need some line height.
