I built Nallex to make sense of the AI tools chaos

Hey Indie Hackers 👋

Over the past year, I’ve been experimenting with a lot of AI tools while building side projects. The problem wasn’t a lack of tools — it was the opposite.

There are hundreds of AI tools, new ones launching every week, and most directories just dump them into long lists with feature descriptions. I kept running into the same questions:

  • Which tools are actually useful?

  • What’s the right stack for a specific goal?

  • How do people combine tools into real workflows?

So I built Nallex.

Nallex is an AI tools directory, but with a different focus: real workflows, not just tools.
Instead of only listing products, it shows how multiple AI tools can be combined to solve real problems — like content creation, outreach, product development, and operations.

It’s built for:

  • Indie hackers

  • Solo founders

  • Small teams who want to move fast without testing everything themselves

This is still early, and I’m actively shaping it based on real usage and feedback.

I’d love to hear:

  • How do you currently discover AI tools?

  • What workflows do you struggle with the most?

  • What would make a directory actually useful for you?

Appreciate any feedback — positive or critical 🙏
