I built SimplySee — an AI that turns confusing images into clear next steps

I built SimplySee after noticing how often people come across things they don't fully understand — bills, documents, internship offers, product screenshots, menus, forms, and more.

AI can already understand images, but I wanted to make the experience simpler and more useful.

With SimplySee, you upload an image and it tells you:

• What it is

• What matters

• What you should do next

• What you should verify

You can also ask follow-up questions and listen to the explanation aloud.

I'm currently testing the MVP with early users and looking for honest feedback from the Indie Hackers community.

What would you upload to SimplySee first?

The first thing I'd test is a bill with fees I don't understand. My main blocker would not be the AI capability; it would be trust. Since your examples include bills, offers, and documents, I’d put a clear upload-retention/deletion promise next to the uploader and let people try a realistic sample before sharing their own files. That could improve conversion and also reveal which use case creates the strongest pull. How are uploaded images and generated explanations currently retained?

I think the biggest risk is that “confusing images” is almost too broad. A bill, internship offer, menu, and product screenshot can all be confusing, but the reason someone needs help—and what they’ll pay to avoid—is completely different.

The product may be doing the same thing technically, but the buyer psychology changes by use case. Someone uploading a bill wants to avoid a costly mistake; someone uploading a screenshot may just want an explanation.

I’d be watching which input creates the strongest “I needed this” reaction. That could reveal the real product positioning hiding underneath the broader AI vision.

Bills, documents, screenshots, and menus are quite different things to put under one umbrella. Curious what people actually upload first when they encounter SimplySee.
