I built Song Finder, a free browser tool for identifying songs
Hi everyone,
We built Song Finder to make identifying music quick and frictionless.
You can upload an audio file, paste a media URL, or record a song playing nearby. Song Finder analyzes the audio and helps you find the track title and artist directly in your browser.
There is no sign-up required, and the basic song recognition experience is free. We also include browser-based audio tools for tasks like trimming, noise reduction, BPM and key detection, lyrics, mood analysis, and finding similar songs.
The idea is simple: when you hear a song and cannot remember what it is, you should be able to identify it without installing an app or creating an account.

The no-signup, browser-first approach makes the core use case genuinely frictionless. The broader audio tools are interesting too, but song identification feels like the clearest reason to come back.
The “record a song nearby” option is the bit that caught me. Removing the app install and signup makes the whole thing feel very immediate when you just need to identify something you heard.
This feels like it could be getting a lot more organic traffic than it probably is right now, especially for a free tool with no signup while you’re still building the initial user base.
