Hey Indie Hackers,
I’ve been working on StopAddict, a lightweight app to help people quit addictions by gamifying the process. Every day you resist your addiction, you gain XP and level up, building a visible streak that keeps you motivated.
I built it because I’ve seen how small, consistent wins help people maintain discipline, especially in the tough first weeks of quitting. There are no ads, no distractions, just a clean interface and a clear sense of progress.
The app is live here: https://www.stopaddict.net/
I’d love your feedback:
• What would help you if you were trying to quit an addiction?
• What features would make this more engaging without turning it into a distraction itself?
• Any marketing strategies you’d suggest to reach people who need this?
Thanks for your time, and if you’re building something similar, let’s connect!
If anyone here has tried to quit an addiction, what was the hardest part for you?
I’m curious about:
• What helped you stay consistent?
• What made you give up or relapse?
• Would tracking XP and streaks have made a difference for you?
This would help me refine StopAddict to actually support people better rather than just adding another tracker they’ll ignore. Appreciate any insights you can share.
