I built TextSlaps to help me stop being ignored by clients

Hey everyone 👋 — I’m Tony.

I built TextSlaps because I kept running into the same problem over and over:

I’d spend 20+ minutes rewriting a message like:

“Hey, just checking in…”
“Sorry to bug you…”
“Whenever you get a chance…”

…only to still get ignored.

This happened with:

  • Clients who hadn’t paid

  • Awkward coworker situations

  • Boundary-setting with people I didn’t want to offend

  • Ending bad business relationships

I realized the problem wasn’t what I was saying — it was how soft I sounded.

So I built a small tool that lets you describe your situation, choose a tone, and get a clear, professional message you can actually send.

Examples:

  • Asking for overdue payment

  • Firing a client

  • Dealing with a rude coworker

  • Setting boundaries

The first message is free, and everything is private.

This is still early, and I’m actively improving it.

Would love any feedback:

  • Is this something you’d use?

  • What situations should I add next?

  • Anything confusing or missing?

Happy to answer questions.

Thanks

    Congrats on the launch 👏

quick question — did you already set any hard limits on LLM/API spend?

I’ve seen a few indie AI apps get hit by agent loops early on.

Thanks! Yeah, that was one of my early concerns.

I’ve put in a few layers already:
      – Credit-based limits per user
      – Hard caps on demo usage (IP + cookie)
      – Server-side rate limiting
      – Daily/monthly API spend ceilings
      – Manual alerts if usage spikes

So worst case, it fails closed instead of burning cash.

Still iterating on it, but trying to be paranoid early

Thanks for checking out TextSlaps! 🙌

I’m actively improving this — just added better templates based on early feedback and improved SEO structure to help people find the right message faster.

    Would love to know:

👉 What situations are you run into where you struggle to write the message?

👉 What tones or contexts should we add next?

    Happy to iterate in real-time.
