I built the HR tool I wished existed when I was managing a team

Every company I've worked with hit the same wall.

They'd start with Google Sheets. A shared doc, a tab per employee, someone copy-pasting review templates from the internet. It worked — until it didn't.

Then they'd buy Lattice or BambooHR. Six-figure contracts. Six-month implementations. And at the end of it, managers still didn't know who was ready for promotion. HR still couldn't answer "who's closest to senior?" without pulling data from five places. The tools got fancier but the underlying problem stayed the same: nobody had a clear picture of how their people were actually growing.

I kept seeing this pattern: companies with 50–300 people, past the spreadsheet phase, not ready for enterprise HR software, stuck in the middle with tools that either cost too much or did too little.

So I built Harmny.

What it does:

- Performance review cycles — setup to results in hours, not weeks

- OKRs with cascading alignment across teams

- Competency frameworks and career ladders employees actually use

- 1:1 agendas and notes

- Org Brain AI — you can ask "who is ready for a senior promotion?" in plain language and get a named list with reasoning

The last one is the piece I'm most proud of. It's not a chatbot. It's an AI layer that reads your org's actual performance and competency data and answers questions managers have been trying to answer manually for years.

Where I am:

Solo founder. Bootstrapped. Built this over the last year and a half.

Free forever for up to 10 users — no credit card. Paid plans start at $8/user/month.

If you're an HR leader, founder, or engineering manager at a 50–500 person company running reviews in spreadsheets (or paying too much for tools that don't fit), I'd love your feedback.
