I built the pipe between my paper notebook and Obsidian

Hey IH πŸ‘‹

I'm a compulsive hand-writer. I journal by hand every day. I take meeting notes on paper. I think through problems with a pen. But I also live in Obsidian and Notion β€” my entire digital second brain is there.

For years the gap between those two worlds drove me crazy. I'd write something great in my notebook, and it would just... stay there. Or I'd spend 20 minutes retyping it. Voice memos were even worse β€” I talk to myself constantly to work through ideas, and those recordings would pile up unlistened.

So I built FlowState (seekflowstate.com) β€” a bridge between analog notes and your digital brain.

How it works: You snap a photo of handwritten notes, record a voice memo, or share from your tablet (Remarkable, Supernote, iPad β€” whatever you use). FlowState transcribes it with AI, enriches it according to your rules, and delivers it to Obsidian, Notion, Google Drive, or OneNote. Automatically. One tap.

The part I'm most proud of is the enrichment layer. Basic OCR wasn't enough for me β€” I've developed my own system of symbols, margin tags, and nested bullet lists when I write by hand. So I built customizable AI rules that understand how you write, not just what you wrote. You can tell it how to format, summarize, translate, or restructure your notes before they land in your app.

What I'd love from you: If you're someone who writes by hand or records voice notes but organizes digitally, I'd genuinely love your feedback. What's missing? What would make this a no-brainer for your workflow?

And if you know anyone in the PKM / second brain / journaling world who might find this useful, I'd appreciate you passing it along.

Thanks for reading πŸ™
