I built Toolknit: a free, privacy-first toolbox for everyday tasks (60+ tools, no uploads, no sign-ups)

Hey everyone 👋 I’m the solo dev behind Toolknit, and I just launched my side project: a one-stop collection of free browser tools for everyday work. It’s got everything you need for quick, common tasks: PDF tools (merge, split, compress, convert) Image utilities (resize, convert, crop, compress) Text/string tools (format, encode/decode, generate) Video/audio helpers, converters, and more — over 60 tools in total. The main difference? Everything runs locally in your browser. Your files never leave your device, there’s no upload to a server, no sign-up required, and no ads. I built this because I was tired of the usual options: bloated sites with paywalls, sketchy tools that harvest your files, or jumping between 5 different platforms just to do one simple task. I wanted a clean, fast, and private toolbox I could use myself, and I thought others might want the same. Right now, I’m focused on adding more tools based on user feedback and keeping the experience as smooth as possible.
