Hey Indie Hackers 👋
Over the past few months I’ve been working on TrainYourAI, and today I’m ready to share where we are and what’s coming next.
🎯 Why I built it
I was frustrated with AI tools that don’t feel like mine. You upload your data, pay monthly, and get generic results.
With TrainYourAI you get:
Your AI running on your machine
Using your OpenAI (or other) API key
A one-time payment, lifetime access model
Your writing voice, your data = your ownership
🔧 What we’ve built so far
A dark-mode dashboard UI (very ChatGPT-style) where you type prompts and get output in your style.
File upload + training profile so your AI learns your tone and voice.
Payment + license flow: one time purchase, unlocks desktop & web app access.
Demo mode live now (→ [prevalid.net]) so people can try it for free and see what their AI would look like.
📈 What’s working & what we’re improving
We’ve got about X early sign-ups (beta) and user feedback shows they love the “my-voice” feel.
Analytics show lots of people demo-ing but dropping at checkout.
So we’re currently optimizing the checkout trust flow, adding clearer messaging, reassurance and smoother payment UI.
Next 2 weeks: polishing user onboarding so new users are up and running in <5 minutes and feel immediate “wow”.
🚀 What’s next (help needed)
Build a “share your prompt/result” social feature so users show off their AI’s output.
Create integrations for LinkedIn / X / Medium so content can publish directly.
If you have experience with desktop apps (Tauri, Electron) + AI embeddings locally — I’d love to hear your suggestions.

Curious how you’d train your AI? Drop a comment with your niche & I’ll DM you early access.
If you’re working on a tool like this too — I’m always open to collabs + feedback.
Thanks for reading — I’m excited to be part of this community of makers.
Would love to hear your thoughts:
What’s the biggest friction you encounter when trying a new AI tool?
Cheers,
