I’ve been building Turkey Rush, a fast, silly browser game where you race cartoon turkeys against other players.
You can jump into public races, play solo, or create a private room and send the link to friends. The whole idea is simple: pick your turkey, race, collect bonuses, avoid chaos, and try to climb the leaderboards.
I wanted it to feel lighthearted and instantly understandable, but still give people reasons to come back. So I added:
🦃 Public multiplayer turkey races
🔒 Private rooms for racing friends
🎨 Custom turkey skins, accessories, trails, and lane themes
🏆 Leaderboards for fastest wins, best points, and most wins
🎯 50+ achievements to unlock
✨ Account XP, levels, and profile progression
🐺 Random race chaos like wolves, boosts, and bonus pickups
The customization has been one of the most fun parts. You can dress up your turkey, equip trails, switch the race track theme, and collect premium/event cosmetics without changing the actual gameplay balance. It is all cosmetic-only, not pay-to-win.
The achievement system is also becoming a big part of the loop. Some are simple, like finishing your first race. Others are grindy, weird, or competitive — win streaks, wolf-related achievements, leaderboard goals, collection goals, and limited-time event achievements.
I’m trying to make it feel fun for all ages: quick enough to play casually, goofy enough to make people laugh, but with enough progression for people who like collecting things.
Would love feedback from Indie Hackers on the game loop, monetization, and first-time user experience.
