At the end of the year, I saw everyone sharing their Spotify Wrapped on social media. I even discovered the music taste of my high school teacher. And this got me thinking. What if I created something similar, but for Twitter!?
So I started building. I didn't want to spend weeks and weeks building something and try to make it perfect. I set a deadline of 4 days to not fall into the perfectionism trap.
(The result is here if you want to try - Twitter Wrapped)
The original idea was to show what you did on Twitter for the past year. But since I depend on the Twitter API, I encountered a problem. Twitter API doesn't return more than 3K tweets for any profile. The average user posts way more than 3K tweets in one year.
Either I dropped the idea or pivoted. There is no quitting early in this business.
So I decided to just show what you did on Twitter for the past 30 days.
As you may have realised by now, without Product Hunt there is no real launch. Well, not really... but it helps you expose your startup to a different audience other than your Twitter friends.
In my previous PH launches, I noticed that promoting your product with a funny video got people more engaged and excited about the idea.
With a couple of camera angles I came up with this:
I had no expectations and it was amazing to reach #5 Product of the day. The launch brought the following stats:
The main goal of this project was to build something fun and to bring some visibility to main startup called Tweet Niche. I think I achieved what I wanted.
For now, I don't have a plan for Twitter Wrapped but I'm sure I will come up with something else to keep it alive
Thank you for reading me and I hope you liked it!
The acting is on point! Good luck man
Best of luck with your product success.
thank you James!
Noice success! Way to go!
