I Built WeatherWear: A Weather App That Helps You Decide What to Wear

Most weather apps answer one question:

What's the weather today?

But when I check the weather before leaving home, that's usually not my real question.

What I actually want to know is:

What should I wear?

That's the idea behind WeatherWear.

I built WeatherWear to turn weather data into practical clothing recommendations. Instead of only showing temperature and humidity, the app suggests apparel based on:

• Current weather conditions

• Gender preferences

• Style preferences (casual, formal, etc.)

• Comfort preferences

For example, if it's 20°C in New York and you're looking for formal attire, WeatherWear can suggest appropriate clothing combinations instead of making you interpret the weather yourself.

What I learned while building it

Building WeatherWear reinforced something I've been thinking about lately:

Users don't necessarily want more data.

They want better decisions.

Weather APIs already provide plenty of information. The challenge is transforming that information into something actionable.

Why I built it

WeatherWear is one of several products I'm building under VaceLabs, where I'm experimenting with focused web tools that solve small but real-world problems.

Rather than building huge platforms from day one, I'm trying to launch useful tools, learn from users, and improve based on feedback.
