I came back from exams and deleted 66% of my backend. ๐Ÿ“‰

Mid-terms are over. Iโ€™m back.

The first thing I did was audit the backend code I wrote weeks ago.

The Realization: When I started Criene, I wrote the backend first. I over-engineered generic endpoints "just in case."

Now that the Frontend UI is finished, I realized how much of that backend logic was useless.

  • Unused parameters.

  • Redundant database queries.

  • Endpoints that the UI never calls.

The cleanup: I spent today syncing the API to the actual UI needs. I ended up deleting 2/3rds of the codebase.

The app is now lighter, the logic is sharper, and I released the Alpha v1.

Want to break my app? I need brave souls to test the Alpha. Join here: https://groups.google.com/g/criene-testers

Next up: Building the Onboarding Tutorial (because apparently, users need to know how the app works). ๐ŸŽฅ
