I chased the wrong signals

Everyone in this or similar subreddits talks about "tracking the right signals" from prospects to write a good opener or personalize a cold email.

This is a trap.

Everyone starts using LinkedIn posts, LinkedIn profiles, funding rounds, technology stacks, maybe job switches. But there’s nothing prospects care less about than hearing that you saw their LinkedIn post about their latest company hire.

That’s worth nothing. Instead, hint at something. You offer web design? Hint that the website is outdated by scraping the copywriting tag. For example:
"Hey Mark, not sure if this is on your radar, but your website still says it’s from 2015. Also noticed there’s no booking system yet..."

Tag something he or she actually cares about, maybe even something they don’t know themselves.

Let’s discuss this!
