I created a gamified education app to help portuguese speakers continue their english studies during quarantine

Hi folks, I am a software engineer from Brazil and I have been studying gamification for some time. My mom is an english teacher and because of the Covid-19 outbreak, their students couldn't have classes with her anymore ( they use to come to our house to have private classes ).

They were also a little bit reluctant to take classes from Skype or Zoom ( I don't know why, maybe it is because they are from a small town from the countryside and are used to have more personal interaction in classes ).

My mom told me that most of their students want to study abroad and they like games and cartoons. I did some research and benchmark with learning apps like Duolingo and Primer and we decided to create this application based on storytelling, micro-learning and interactive game elements ( quizzes and word search ).

It is a web based application where they can play on the computer, tablet or mobile phone. In the application we tell a story of a boy who is studying english because he applied to study in a school in England. He receives a call telling him that in order to get accepted he will have to perform a test. He gets very excited but also a little bit anxious about the test.

The story follows on with a friend helping him to study and achieve his dream of studying abroad. We use cards with illustration to tell the story while we also teach concepts like simple past and present continuous. We also introduce game elements during the story.

In the end of each topic we also have a test in the form of a quiz with random questions where the user gains more points the faster he answers the questions. I know that there aren't many portuguese speakers here but if any of you is interested in taking a look at the application, you only need to create an account using email and password.

We have finished the first topic ( Simple Present and Present Continuous ) and we will add more content as we improve the application. Any feedback, suggestion or comment is welcome =)

Thanks

    When I sign in, there's a few critical problems it seems;

    1. I think I'm looking at and possible signed in as someone else's profile.
    2. None of the activities are clickable for me to join.
    3. It wasn't stated that if I joined I my name and score would be available for others to see.

    So I'd like to share this with my brazuca friends in Canada, but I'm hesitant with these issues. It will be a good product, hopefully soon!

      Hi @Blake_Emigro thanks for your feedback

      About the topic 1, why do you think that you signed as someone else's profile? The ideia is that you provide your e-mail. If you already have an account you will be prompted to provide your password. If you don't have an account, it will ask you for a name and password. What happened when you added your email?

      Topic 2: That's really a bug. You should be able to start playing the moment you click in one of them. Gonna check it out

      Topic 3: I really haven't thought at this point. Where do you thing would be interesting to add this information?

      Thanks

        When I signed in I could see all the activity progress of the person at the top of the leader board, as though I was that person. And it showed that person's name as though I was in their profile.
