Guys I created a social network for gamers a few months ago. (Unfortunately it is almost all in Portuguese, but this is the link: https://pyre.gg)
During this time we were able to keep up with 30-40 daily active users and even have over 60,000 pageviews per month.
However I am no longer able to increase our numbers and increase engagement. Should I pivot? Do you know any material on how to build Social Networks / Communities that can help me?
You need to login to see the content? one strategy is to make the posts public (like reddit, pinterest, quora, twitter) improving SEO that way if someone for example search on google for 'cs: go' your page might show up then people might sign up to comment/share and so on.
(ótimo site!)
Thank You 🤩
Except for the main page all of our pages are public ;D

One strategy you might use here Gui is to look at other gaming forums and websites and then explore topics that have driven the most engagement and repost those (or similar topics) as a way to drive discussion. Another option might be to setup live chats with notable people in your industry - have them answer questions and spur discussion topics. Finally, you might simply ask some of your most active users what they'd like to see more of.
Thank You! I'll try that ;D
What features do your users currently use most?
Currently the most used is a timeline that is divided between feed, hot and recent.
Posting your opinion about a game or asking for help has been the most common. However there is a main group of people who are well retained but we have a hard time activating other people.
What problems do these solve for people?
The vast majority like to share game news or trailers and talk about it. I believe the pain that is being resolved is being listened to and having a community that likes what you like.
So it's mainly a community meaning it's a feeling of connection, how can you make people feel more connected and closer to real people rather than internet avatars?
There is probably also a split of features for power users/influencers which while benefiting mostly a few, might increase the businesses a lot
Vs features for the mass
Thphex is right. from my perspective it seems you did not really plan to grow and it sort of happened accidentally. I would ask myself what i wanted the community to be about, how i expect the interactions to take place and what the value will be from such an interaction (from the user's perspective).
Also gaming is mostly competitive, so i will introduce some kind of contests or leader board of some sort around each game so fans of each particular game can come together around it and . You will then have a community of communities of highly engaged users.
(my projections)
