I just launched my first MVP which was a vs code extension that your time spent on writing code and you can visualize data (like most productive day, most used language, chart display your coding time in a day and others data ) in the web app. also within the web app you share your public goals with like-minded people and rewards your coding time
After that, I didn't get enough interest in the idea or product. Is the idea not validated?
An MVP failing doesn't mean the idea is bad. It just means that something went wrong with either your marketing, execution, choice of target market, description of offering, etc. (Or it could mean that the core idea is bad. But one failed MVP doesn't prove that.) So usually, after one "failed" MVP, you try changing/improving something and giving it another attempt. If you like the idea, spend 3 months (or 5 iterations) on it instead of just giving up after 1 MVP. The first MVP will almost never be a blow-up success on its own.
Of course, if you think the idea has other future problems (e.g. hard to make money, hard to grow, hard to build, hard to maintain), then that might influence you to pick another one to spend your time on. But the MVP failing has only proved that that particular attempt didn't work... it doesn't prove that the underlying idea is bad.
Thank you so much for your support.
I just figure out that I have some issues in MVP and it's didn't work correctly.
The problem is this idea of the product already excited and the difference between my product and the competitor is the reward system and public goals features
I'll improve the V1 of the MVP but fixing issues and do some testing before launch V2
my 2 cents, hope will help!
Idea: as developer myself (Java, with Eclipse btw) one of my pain point is to start working on something, then move to another git branch, start again and so on. At the end of the day I have to provide a timesheet for my employer. Could you automate this ?
Thank you so much for your support
I totally agree with you. I not proud of the landing page and dashboard, I'll improve the web app and extension in next days but after I take a break because I feel so tired this week
I love your recommendations, I know a lot of active developers communities but how can explain them my work without feeling spammy
I make a Trello board which I'll organize all my ideas, requested features and feedbacks
Yes, I'm from Morocco, but We don't have a lot of active developers communities in Morocco
I don't proud of my landing page design but I'll redesign the landing page to be more clean, modern and responsive
I provide screenshots of how extension work and also how the dashboard looks like
Yes, I test the extension and it now works correctly but it's launch was some issues in the extension
I never use Eclipse but maybe there's a way to automate this. I'll do some research about this topic and I'll send you a message if I found a way to automate this
Thanks again for your support :)
you are welcome!
For suggestion about arab.. well arab it's main language for a lot of people around the world, keep an eye open on this side too
Thank you so much. I'm searching for Arab developers communities and you can suggest an Arab developers community if you knew one
It will be easier to comment if you can share a bit more like
