I don't get enough replies to my cold emails, what am I doing wrong?

https://brandlistening.net

I've launched a B2B service that targets a wide niche: SaaS apps, small businesses in tech, serial entrepreneurs.

The service is this: social listening for a brand and its competitors. https://brandlistening.net

I've reached out to people in my network and I'm in talks with a few of them to sign on. Cold outreach, however, is lacking results so far - although it's been just a few weeks since I started out, I only got a handful of replies back.

I'm trying to provide value by thoroughly researching prospects (I only reach out to a handful of highly targeted people per day) and offering a demo in the form of mentions they might have missed - and sometimes, I know it's valuable to them, I see them go back and reply to conversations I've highlighted. And yet, they don't get back to me.

Most recently, I've tried building a subpage of my landing page for each of the prospects, and just sending a brief email that links to that. Still, so few replies.

What am I doing wrong here?

What is your reply rate and volume sent ? What is your cold email ? Which tool do you use to send them ?

Also do you send them a link to this landing page ? Or do you expect a reply ?
You should work on the landing page I think.
      Try this :

      1. Change your headline to highlight your product main benefit
      2. Add a big Call to Action below but forget about mailto link. Use convertflow or even Typeform
      3. Change the screenshots, some of them are pixelated and the product does not look appealing

      Hope this helps

I agree with @romainsimon. If marketers are your target users, their expectation of a landing page is probably much higher than say developers.

Thank you! To reply to your questions: I use Gmail and have tried a few scripts so far (some shorter, some longer, some with less and some with more information). I'm using a landing page builder that's currently working on implementing forms - I"ll look into using Typeform until then!

It would be helpful to know what your goal is. Offering money or getting someone paid usually only gets 30 to 40% reply rate. But that is after a few followups. Usually starts on one email at 10 to 15% response.

But if you are selling something then you might max out at 10%. If you have a good price and conversions, then that might be all you need.

Could you share a redacted version of an email?

You probably won't get more than a 10% response rate, and a 1-5% rate for the first email is not terrible. Are you following up after the 1st email?

I guess the replies to my first email are around 2-5%, so maybe my expectations were higher due to the amount of work I put into it .

I don't have an automate flow (by choice, since I'm A/B testing a lot) so I am following up based on the target and how many times they open the email. Usually it's 1-2 follow-ups.

Its finding the balance between sending out volume and keeping things personalized and lead gen targeted.
There 2 main things that will impact results which are deliver ability and copy. If your hitting spam your in the weeds and is something you dont have full control over and google are pretty tight lipped about it. For copy you need to do lots of A/B testing and will soon find that lots of tweaks will soon add up and can turn a campaign around. make a big difference. to the subject and changing your call to action.

Do some case studies in the follow ups to highlight what you do and why clients will want the service

For your landing page add some info on why they should choose you, add more CTA and set up a business email address and not a gmail account.

Are you using a gmail account to send out the email campaign which would impact results?

How many cold emails sent vs replies you got back?
I've no experience with this, but I'd imagine the standard reply ratio for something like this would be really low. It sounds like you got some replies back though, so maybe you're doing better than you think?
