"I don't want to always be chasing the next peak moment, I want to appreciate where I am now. I used to chase that feeling. But if I landed a big client, for example, it only felt good for maybe 25 seconds. Then I was like, 'Oh my God, how am I going to service this person?' I worried and actually got a bit depressed. And as the revenue went up, I'd get this crazy anxiety because, if I lost a client, then I'd make less than the month before, which would mean I wasn't growing, which would mean I was failing. It got really stressful. But a friend gave me good advice. She said, 'Enjoy the small wins now, because when you're really big, you're gonna look back and wish you took a second to enjoy the journey.' So that's what I try to do now. We just did a Kickstarter campaign and, the night that we crossed a million, me and my partner just sat back, opened a beer, and enjoyed the moment."
It's so funny how we strive so hard for that first customer and then panic once we get them! 🤔
Great advice to enjoy the journey.
Because those wins are hard fought for and deserve that moment of recognition and glory.
