💔
Hey everyone,
I never imagined I'd write something like this — but here I am.
After months (really, years) of work, I recently shut down a startup I poured everything into. My savings, my energy, my belief. I tried to build something meaningful, but it didn’t work out. We couldn’t make it sustainable, and eventually, I ran out of both capital and clarity.
In total, I lost around $50,000. Money I didn’t exactly have to burn. I’m now staring at debt, monthly repayments, and the sinking feeling that everything I built is gone — except the lessons.
The hardest part? Not the failure itself.
But swallowing my pride and writing this: “Does anyone have freelance work or gigs I can help with?”
I’ve been a full-stack developer for over 7 years. Built products from scratch. Handled backend, frontend, devops, APIs, and yes — even customer support at 3AM. I can ship. I can solve real problems. I just… need a chance to get back on my feet.
So, if you're building something and need a reliable dev — even just part-time — I’d love to contribute.
Or if you’ve been in my shoes and found your way out — I’d deeply appreciate your advice.
Thanks for reading this far. Feels weird asking strangers for help, but I’ve seen how generous and real this community can be.

This is tough, but also where most real learning happens. A lot of failures come from figuring things out too late in the process. Did you have a clear structure of what to build before starting, or did it evolve as you went?
Reading this truly moved me. I can feel the pain behind your words, but also see the strength it took to share this. The dedication and effort you’ve put in will surely shape your future in meaningful ways. Stay strong, keep shining, and never stop building — better days are coming!
Hey — thank you for sharing this so openly. It takes real courage to be this honest, and I promise you're not alone. Many of the best builders I know have hit similar walls — myself included.
You didn’t just fail — you built, learned, and cared enough to go all-in. That matters. keep your head up
This hit deep. Thanks for being real and sharing so openly — that alone takes serious strength.
I just launched my first tiny product, and even at my scale, I’ve felt how tough the journey can be. So I really respect the resilience behind your story.
With your skillset and honesty, I know you’ll bounce back — and I hope someone here gives you the shot you deserve. Rooting for you 🙌
Thanks for your kind words.
You’ve spent 7 years mastering full-stack development, that’s not nothing. That’s the kind of foundation only real builders have. Life can be heavy sometimes, but you’ve already proven you’re built for it. Most people only dream of having that kind of skill and drive. Chin up!
Thanks for your motivation.
It means a lot to me
Your post is a clear success on all levels both technical and emotional. Are you interested in joigning as Tech co-founder?
I would love to.
Hi @Latenightcoder, thanks for your honesty - start-up life can be brutal at times, but I strongly believe that building that scar-tissue will be invaluable down the line. Chin up and I'll ask around my network if anyone looking for a contractor.
Thanks for your support.
Reading your post is tough, it takes real strength to write this post.
You're a 7-year full stack dev who can build products from scratch. That skill set is incredibly valuable, and the market absolutely needs people like you who can truly ship.
This is just a chapter, not the whole story. Wishing you all the best, and I have no doubt you'll get back on your feet soon.
Yeah, already figuring out next move in my life, thanks for your kind words.
It motivates me in keep pushing

Hey bro, skilled developers always find a way. You'll get through this. Try looking for projects on Reddit, teaching others to code, or offering consulting services to businesses. I'm also struggling as a founder, so I can't offer much practical help, but I'm here for you.
Yeah, already started working for a organization.
Thanks for support appreciate it.
