I feel like i need a mentor and often i also feel like i can be a mentor.

You can definitely do both. You don't have to be perfect in all aspects of life to be a mentor to someone and as long as you're not perfect there is always space in your life for mentoring.
I've always found mentors through my work so I'd be interested in the advice on finding mentors "cold" as well.
I've found building a mentoring relationship similar to dating.
Start with a coffee, listen, be helpful, and take time to build up a relationship. You (probably) wouldn't go into a first date talking about marriage, kids etc. Same thing applies for finding a mentor.
I would add that people are on a various continuums i.e. there are many different, but equally necessary skills. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. The greatest strength is self-awareness and self-honesty about where we are on each of them.
People are on a continuum in terms of their development. You can mentor anyone who you are further along than and who wants to progress. People further along than you are very valuable for you to spend time around. Both activities are valuable because when mentoring others you learn to clearly articulate your philosophies, principles, strategies and tactics which helps give you a greater level of clarity. Being mentored is valuable because just hearing philosophies, principles, strategies and tactics often isn't enough to execute them successfully and the real feedback you get from someone who knows what they are doing gives you that much needed error correction.
