I Finally Launched My Newsletter (and I'm Actually Working On It)!

At first glance, the title of this post seems great, another Indie Hacker starting their thing!

But it takes a turn. What do I mean by "actually working on it"?

Well, it's a long story. I won't tell the whole story here, since that's kind of the point of the newsletter.

In short, I've been in the "wantrepreneur" category for too long, for many years. I listen and watch and read everything I can about starting the business I'll start "soon". A great idea comes to mind, I work through the idea to make it unique, I do some market research, and I create task lists and (sometimes) designs for the product. And that's always when progress stops.

Or so it has, historically.

For all of the invaluable information I've gleaned over the years from myriad resources, none of it seemed to enable my own action. I found that anyone with great advice was assuming their audience was someone who was able to get out of his/her own way. It makes sense too, because it's really hard to address someone's motivation when you're discussing the best ways to raise venture capital (or not).

But the deeper I looked, the more I realized there's a category of people that everyone wants to share wisdom with, but whom they can't quite reach.

The Indie Hackers podcast is a great example of this. Courtland asks fantastic questions tailored to people who want to get started, but who can't or haven't yet. The problem, though, is that best possible answer assumes that this is even the thing we really want to be doing, that we're not just dreaming about this thing for reasons that aren't our own.

That's why I'm writing this newsletter. I'm telling my story to the people who are striving for better than where they are now, but who can't seem to understand why they can't act. There might be baggage weighing you down from past relationships, or you simply might be attempting to fulfill someone else's dreams.

In any scenario, I'm addressing the idealists who simply want to reach the platform in their lives upon which they can move in any direction, where their striving means forward action, their thought process being iterative and based on methodical testing and feedback. I want to make this a resource for anyone whose inaction or negative self-talk demands answers, and after reading and engaging and applying what I've learned (the hard way) to your own life, you should know for certain that you can make the progress you've been envisioning.

I want to turn your negative one into a zero - add anything to zero, and that's what you get.

This is the precursor to 10X thinking. I just want to get you to clarity and action.

Thanks for reading!
