Hi everyone, I hope you are doing fine. Amid the lockdown I was reading articles over articles on medium and when it struck to me that I myself have a few drafts on Medium that I never published. Polished them a bit and published them ASAP, although they are a little less relevant now but anyway I did what I should have done earlier.
Here are a few points I learned:
Don't think no one is going to read your article. Now there is a high chance that your article might not go viral. But hey, even if 100 people read it, I think it is great because everyone starts from zero. And this is your zero.
Move it out of the draft, please. I know it is tempting to write the perfect article that is flawless but please when you feel like you are spending too much time on a single article just hit the publish button. You can always edit it later. Few likes are better than none.
Images. Use plenty of images in your articles because reading can get boring quite fast.
Leverage your tools. Medium gives plenty of tools like embedding images, codes, snippets, headings, quotes. Use them so that you can break the monotony of your article.
Use links. Link to your socials.
That being said if you want to check it out and give that not so great article a bump you are most welcome:

Thanks again and see you around.
Hahaha I feel you. I have almost as many articles in draft as I have published. Sometimes I go through them and find they are either only roughly drafted out ideas which are not relevant anymore, or other reasons I did not publish them.
Sometimes an article is not relevant anymore.
Sometimes I have already disproven my initial idea
Sometimes I combine multiple articles into one
Sometimes I extract one article into multiple articles.
Sometimes I even remove articles if I later find out the idea laid out is just plain wrong.
Some days when I'm feeling down it can be rewarding to finish an old post to feel some sense of pride and accomplishment though :)
Can't agree more with the last part !!
Congrats man and thank you for sharing! I only found Medium this year and currently am writing my first piece. I hope I will keep my drafts empty for the time being :)
I would love to read your articles! Let me know when you publish here or on my twitter https://twitter.com/RajeevSinghN
Hey, Rajeev! I have published the article if you still want to check it out or share it. https://medium.com/@benas11/2020s-the-decade-of-podcasts-2856f983acfe?source=friends_link&sk=c1610d334b95e9f2a21a0ea32b97decf
Thanks! Yeah, of course, I can share my first article with you. It should be published sometime next week.
