I gained from 0 to 11,000+ followers on LinkedIn by stopping 1 mistake.

When I started posting on LinkedIn, I did what most designers do.

→ shared my work
→ posted portfolio shots
→ talked about design trends

Nothing moved.
No reach.
No followers.

So I stopped guessing and started studying what actually works.

Here’s what changed everything:

→ I picked one clear audience
→ freelancers who were good at their skill but bad at making money

→ I created a short list of topics:
• getting clients
• pricing
• client conversations
• mistakes I made and fixed

→ I posted only around those problems

Within days, things shifted.

→ followers started coming daily
→ posts got saved and shared
→ people started DM’ing me with real questions

The lesson is simple:
People don’t follow design.
They follow how you helping them.

If you’re posting and nothing is happening, it’s usually not the algorithm.
It’s the message.

Great reminder that it’s the message, not the algorithm 👏

I love this breakdown. Most of us designers start by posting pretty shots, not problems. Your shift to one clear audience and money-focused topics makes a lot of sense. It’s a good reminder that people don’t follow design, they follow how you help them.
