I give up!

But noooo I'm even failing at giving up. I wish I could so I can focus on other new things, but every other god damn idea I have now somehow circles back to the same failure I've been working on for the last 4 years.

So I guess the proper term here is pivoting? Any thoughts on what I could pivot a "Virtual Tour Creator" software to? TIA! www.nocknock.io

What would you pivot a "Virtual Tour Creator" software to...
  1. Hidden Objects Game - something like "Hidden Folks" but in 360
  2. Shopify Plugin - VR for your Shopify enabled physical store
  3. Making everything free and integrate ads
  4. Delete your github project and move on to something new!

Make it free and integrate ads... You can have a premium paid option.

Most people don't want to share their private spaces online.

The other problem you have is that Google Maps does this too, for free.

I would use this as a SaaS for real estate, hospitality and venue promotion and have a sales or referral fee...

Probably what I'll end up trying next. Yeah, Street View is free, hard to compete with free, though it does have limited customization / resolution.

Your project honestly looks really good, but out of the use-cases described on your website the real-estate example stuck out the most to me. Maybe focus on a specific target audience, get in contact with some people from that field, and specialize from there?

Your better-established and I assume well-funded competition can do anything that you can if they wished to do so (like better load times or resolution).

If you are not a real estate insider (connections, friends, first customers that will be willing to go through the adoption process with you and then spread the word), I'd say move on to something else. Something, that you know from inside out, or at least something that you are passionate and very pro-active to get to know.

The technical point of view is necessary but about as relevant to success as a pan to a delicious dinner.

Target, contact and demo it to RE agents - my thoughts on who uses this the most.

Ask the users of competitor products why they use that product and any features they wished they had.

I am curious what was the objection from real estate (e.g., apartment complex), restaurants, hotels, or even coworking spaces?

I think main issue is competition is kicking my butt - Kuula, cloudpano, Theasys, etc. I thought I might be able to differentiate with higher resolution and faster load speeds so focused on that for awhile, but I feel like I'm too late to this game.

Big competitors inspire trust and that's the main point. Slightly better tech is not going to change that. You can differentiate yourself with outstanding and attentive service.

        What's your target?

        1. Market domination - look at your competition, figure out how to be better or disrupt, take VC money.
        2. Run a small business - your competition is irrelevant, do some sales and you'll reach your goal.

Which marketing channels did you try to promote this?

So far I've tried google, facebook, and linkedin. I thought linkedin would've been hit being able to target specific professions, but no dice for me. Or maybe I'm not spending enough money? How much would your daily budget be for something like this? The site ranks 6th or 7th if you google "virtual tour creator" but my organic daily hits are in the low teens.

Are your competitor’s customers unhappy with their product? Might make sense to interview some of them if you can to see what things they hate (if any) of your competitors’ product. See if you can notice a common pain point that you can focus on solving. That’d be the next thing I would try to do. I’ll be rooting for you, your product looks cool!
