I got all these leads but my platform is not 100% useable yet. What to do?

I'm building a platform where people can visually edit apps. I built a landing page and have amassed about 70 leads, which is great, but I'm sort of stuck as in what to say to them.

My platform is not 100% useable yet and I'm afraid that giving a demo too early will backfire. I don't think this is a problem for leads that are just one developer or designer who's trying out a new tool, but some of the leads are large companies and I don't know what to say to them.

Current platform problems:

  • No onboarding/tutorials
  • No documentation
  • Random bugs/crashes happen occasionally

I think my options are:

  • Give a demo to single developers/designers and get feedback from them. Tell large companies that we're still polishing the platform and that we'll get back to them soon. (Risk: lose leads from large companies, miss out on learning what the needs are for large companies)
  • Give a demo to every lead, regardless of size. Reasoning being that feedback is crucial, especially from large companies who are ultimately very important to me. (Risk: companies thinking that we're too unstable and telling others that we suck)

What are your thoughts?

How many of these leads have you personally reached out to since they expressed interest in your product?

This is an awesome opportunity to do some interviews to discover their major pain points and build a relationship.

You could then hand select who to open up access to and get valuable early feedback.

I would also say don’t overthink things too much. You’ll never feel “ready” and can easily paralyse yourself and launch way too late.

The real learning starts when the first users start interacting with what you’ve created. If it solves their problem they’ll put up with issues in the early days and you’ll get invaluable feedback.

    Best of luck!
