Hey everyone,
I just wanted to share a little project I've been working on - it came out of pure frustration.
I use the Apple Fitness app regularly, and while I love how it tracks workouts, I always found the social media sharing features... kinda bad. 😬
If the share button even worked (which it often didn’t), the result was a weird, cropped image that didn’t show the stats I actually cared about - no pace, no route map, no real customization — and it just never felt story-worthy. And for something as motivating as workouts, that felt like a missed opportunity.
So I decided to build something that would give me exactly what I wanted.
FitLayer is a web app that turns your workout stats and route screenshots into clean, beautiful, social-media-ready story cards. You can:
Upload any workout screenshot (from Apple Fitness, Strava, Garmin, etc.)
Add your route map if you have one
If you don’t upload a background image, it automatically fetches beautiful photos from Unsplash to use as your backdrop
Auto-format it for Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook stories
And share it directly to your socials
It uses Vision AI to recognize your stats from the image, so it’s not tied to a single workout app — it works with anything.
I built it with the features I wished Apple had included: control over layout, good design, ability to highlight my actual effort, and a way to tell the story of my workout without hacking things together manually.
When you sign up, you get 3 free generation credits to try it out (no weird trial stuff).
Would love any feedback or suggestions if you check it out: https://fitlayer.co
Thanks for reading - and keep moving. 💪
