I got my first paying customer today! MAIN TAKEOUTS

I got my first customer today! Main takeouts
Hey guys!

I hope you are killing it this week.

Long story short today I got my first customer! I am so excited I cant describe it in words.

I have started my online unlimited design & video ads editing service in January 2019...

Before that I had been freelancing for 1 and a half years. One day I had enough and said...fuck it . I was fed up with clients who obviously couldn't value design & video and also with negotiating the price all the time with these people.

I wanted to try something new and something scalable.

That is why I decided to start productized service online and set my own prices! People would pay upfront. Flat monthly rate of 399 dollars and then could ask for whatever day want right? Just like that...

I was so excited when I launched my website in January, expecting at least 10 people jumping for my product like crazy monkeys...Nothing happened.

I quickly realized it is not going to be that easy... So, I started doing content marketing, posting in various forums, groups on facebook etc. and nothing worked. I started questioning my product but then again...there is a competition doing good so there must be something I dont know. I wanted to get the clients online so badly... not having to talk with customers directly. After few weeks I realized that this is not way to get clients when you are just starting online.

Nobody knows you, you have no reviews and no recognition. Why would they buy from you? There is no trust.

Today, I said fuck it again...I picked up my phone and started offering to companies and I officially landed a client!

I am going to continue calling companies to get first 10 clients to acquire recurring revenue and then start investing in paid advertisements.

The main takeout is: When you are just starting, get yourself out there and start contacting businesses directly. This way you will gain recognition, first revenue and confidence in your product. I know it is uncomfortable... but this is the quickest way to see whether there is demand for your product. Save yourself some time and money...

If you have finished reading this...cheers mate! If you have any questions, just ask. I will reply to all of them.

399/mo seems pretty cheap for hands-on work like that. How do you plan on scaling it? Perhaps I don't have a good grasp on what it is that you offer...

We offer graphic design and video ads editing for flat monthly rate. You purchase a monthly plan and then you can start requesting tasks. You describe what you want , attach all the files we should use and our designer will make your idea reality. We deliver within 24-48 hours depending on the complexity of the task. You can check us out at www.gradexi.com Let me know what you think.

The concern with your business model is when you start getting more and more clients how many quality video ads will you be able to deliver for a customer per month. Do you guarantee a minimum of X number of video ads?

    1. 1

Realistically you can get one video ad every 24-48 hours. Depending on the complexity of the task. Obviously, more complex tasks take longer to finish but we try to deliver within 24-48 hours.

what you will do if you will have a client who ALWAYS want something? You are from eastern europe (like me, now I am living in Thailand ;) so we are quite cheap but how do you want to scale it later (hire more people?)

    1. 1

Yeah I will just hire more people. I also don't plan to operate in Eastern Europe. I don't live in. There. I was just born there.

I didn't mean operate in Eastern Europe, I mean hire people from there because they are cheaper ;) there are some services like "design pickle" and they working well so good luck ;)

Well done with sticking at it!

And you are right, so much about business is about trust. And trust is hard and slow to build.
