I got my first subscriber but it's not who I thought.

Before you read any further I just want to let you know that this is not a moral of the story kind of a post. This is just my experience that I thought was funny that I want to share with you guys.

So recently I created an app called Kasper(https://getkasper.app). It's basically an app that allows you to practice interview by talking to an AI.

Anyways, I recently got an email from a user asking for a feature request. He want's to be able to conduct the interview in french and he even offered to be a pro user if it helps me develop the feature.

I was already developing the feature although not french specifically, but I decided to put it as my priority. Within that day, I built the feature, launch it and email him back.

The next day when I wake up, I got a notification saying that I have a new subscriber. I was so excited but when I look at the user, he was from a different country and not France. I figured that he might be french but currently living in another country but when I got the time to dig into my database, it turns out that it was a completely different person.

After a few days of waiting I resign to the fact that the french user will not be subscribing as a pro user which is funny because his request actually lead me to getting my first pro subscriber even though I thought he was going to be the first one.
