I got tired of building backends for simple contact forms, so I made PostDrop

A few months ago I was building a simple landing page and got stuck on something stupidly small:

the contact form.

I didn’t want to build APIs.
Didn’t want to configure SMTP.
Didn’t want to manage spam protection.
Didn’t want to deploy backend code just to receive a message in my inbox.

But somehow every “simple form” became backend work.

So I started building PostDrop.

The idea is very simple:
you point your HTML form to PostDrop, and it handles the backend side — validation, spam filtering, parsing, and email delivery.

Something like:

and submissions start arriving in your inbox.

That’s it.

I know tools like this already exist, but while using them I often felt they were either:

  • too complicated,

  • too enterprise-focused,

  • or required more setup than I wanted.

I wanted something developer-first and extremely lightweight.

The goal is:
“working contact form in under 2 minutes.”

Right now I’m focusing on:

  • improving reliability,

  • making onboarding smoother,

  • creating framework examples,

  • and talking to real developers to understand what’s annoying in existing workflows.

Would genuinely love feedback from other builders here:

  • What’s your current setup for forms?

  • What do you hate about it?

  • What features actually matter vs unnecessary bloat?

Still early, but excited to keep improving this.

If anyone wants to try it or roast the idea, I’m all ears :)

Still very early and figuring things out, but building this has been surprisingly fun. Happy to hear any feedback, criticism, or feature ideas from fellow developers 🙂
