The problem isn't that we don't have enough news.
We have more than ever.
The problem is who pays for it.
Advertising pays. Platforms control distribution. Algorithms decide what gets seen. Large institutions own the infrastructure.
And whoever controls the money eventually has influence over the product.
So I started building CJN — Citizen Journalism Network.
The idea is simple.
Give independent journalists and citizen reporters the infrastructure to publish their work, build an audience and be funded directly by the people who value what they do.
We're building publishing, subscriptions, payments, newsletters, video and community tools around that idea.
It's early.
There are already hundreds of people on our mailing list and supporters from multiple countries.
But there's a lot left to build.
I'll share that part here.
The decisions. The technology. The mistakes. The numbers.
Building independent journalism, independently.
