AI news breaks on X before anywhere else, so I found myself checking it constantly just to make sure I wasn't missing anything. The problem is that X also has so much noise. Like an insane amount. Each time I go on it, I have to scroll through hundreds of posts to get what I need to know and get distracted in the process.
I wanted a way to stay informed without having to constantly scroll X, which is why I created Onset.
Onset will:
Instead of constantly scrolling X to keep up, you get notified when something important happens.
If you've had the same problem as me, we're opening early access here: https://onset.news/
Sign up and I'll let you know as soon as we launch (or please let me know why this isn't for you -- this is my first post here about my journey so trying to get as much feedback as possible).
Would also love to hear your guys’ thoughts and how you keep up with AI news!
Why did you choose to make it an app? Why not a newsletter? Very interesting though.
i think an app allows the notification aspect to really come to life. people already expect important updates to come through apps, and it also makes reading and interacting with stories (like asking follow-up questions) much smoother than a website or newsletter. i’ve also realized with newsletters, i sign up and then lose the notifications in my email and never actually end up reading them
