I got tired of Duolingo so I decided to try to build a 10x better version where users can just speak with AI and learn as they speak.

Duolingo didn't work for me. I wanted to be able to speak and learn as I speak, through concrete cases.

So I decided to build an app where i could talk to an AI and learn as I speak by doing in-context vocabulary and grammar reminders.

As an aside i think that's the best way to learn anything (try and learn and repeat) and this is what language learning should always have been!

Anyway I vibe coded the app with windsurf literally without writing any single line of code and integrated with ElevenLabs for incredibly realistic voices and GPT/Whisper for STT and text gen.

It already literally works 10x better than Duolingo for me - I've used it for a week and learned 10x more than I would've with Duolingo because I learn concrete words and concepts and speak constantly to reinforce.
