I got tired of needing a Mac to build iOS apps — so I built a workaround

A while ago, I wanted to build a simple iOS app.

What surprised me wasn’t the coding — it was everything around it.

You need:

  • a Mac

  • Xcode

  • to learn Swift

  • and then deal with Apple’s whole ecosystem

It felt like a lot of friction just to test an idea.

So I started asking myself:
What if you could go from idea → working iOS app without all that setup?

That’s what I’ve been building over the past months.

It’s called Scaleify — you describe your app idea (or upload files), and it generates a real native iOS app you can actually use and iterate on.

It’s still early, but people are already building small apps with it, which is honestly exciting to see.

I’m curious:

  • What do you think is the biggest barrier to building iOS apps today?

  • And would something like this actually be useful to you?

If you want to try it:

Would really appreciate honest feedback — especially where it breaks.
